When does check in open?

• Transatlantic flights: 24 hours before your scheduled departure time.
• Flights within Europe: 15 days for advanced check or 48 hours without.

What to do if you have bags?

After checking in online and receiving your boarding pass, here are the options for what you can do with your bags:

• If you are traveling with just your included 7 kg carry-on bag for regional flights (operated by Emerald Airlines) or 10 kg carry-on bag, you can go straight to security.
• If you need to check bags, use an Express Bag Drop Kiosk to drop them off and avoid queues. Alternatively, you can go to a check-in desk, but be mindful of the waiting times.

When online check in is not available

Online check in is not available in the following situations but don't worry you can still check in at the airport for free.

• If you don't have a passport or are travelling with a passport card or National Identity card.
• You are travelling with an infant.
• You have a group booking (7 or more customers).
• You booked flights via the Aer Lingus contact centre or a travel agency. If you booked through a travel agency please ensure you check in online using aerlingus.com and not through our app.
• You are travelling on any routes that have a visa requirement (other than an ESTA valid for travel to the US).
• You are flying to or from Donegal or Faro airports, which do not currently accept mobile boarding passes.
• There is a technical issue with online platforms.

Advanced Passenger information

To speed up your check in at the airport, make sure you fill in your Advance Passenger Information (API) before you arrive.
