Get Ready for Boarding

Flights within Europe

Flights start boarding approximately 30–40 minutes before departure.

Customers will board in the following sequence:

 

Group	Eligibility
Pre-boarding	Customers with special assistance requirements will be invited to pre-board the aircraft.
Priority boarding – Group 1	AerClub Silver, Platinum and Concierge members (including partner airline equivalent loyalty program members) AerSpace customers Connecting Business Class customers
General boarding – Group 2	Customers with a 10kg carry-on bag entitlement (your boarding pass will indicate ‘Carry-on bag’)
General boarding – Group 3	All remaining customers

 

Please ensure you arrive at your boarding gate no later than the time stated on your boarding pass.

Transatlantic Flights

Flights start boarding approximately 40–50 minutes before departure.

Customers will board in the following sequence:

 

Group	Eligibility
Pre-boarding	Customers with special assistance requirements will be invited to pre-board the aircraft.
Priority boarding – Group 1	Business Class customers
General boarding – Group 2	AerClub Silver, Platinum and Concierge members (including partner airline equivalent loyalty program members)
General boarding – Group 3	Economy Class customers, rear rows
General boarding – Group 4	All remaining customers

 

Please ensure you arrive at your boarding gate no later than the time stated on your boarding pass.

Helpful tips

• Keep an eye on the airport screens and the Aer Lingus app for boarding gate information and updates on your boarding time.
• Allow enough time to get to your gate, factoring in time for possible transfers to your boarding area, passport control checks, etc. which can vary from airport to airport.
• When you get to the gate, take a seat and relax. The boarding lanes should be kept clear so everyone can enjoy stress-free boarding. Please only join your assigned lane when your group is called.
• As you join the lane for boarding, each customer should have their own boarding pass and passport/ID document ready at the photo page for inspection by our boarding staff.
• Customers who bring a 10kg carry-on bag and are not entitled to bring it on board, will be charged a €35/£35 fee at the boarding gate. Please avoid this by dropping your bag free of charge at check in.
• If your aircraft is parked away from the terminal building, we will provide a bus to take you from the boarding gate to the aircraft.
• If, due to limited capacity in the overhead lockers, we don’t have space for everyone’s bags, we will put your bag into the aircraft hold free of charge and you can collect it from baggage reclaim at your destination airport.
