Collecting Avios
Every time you buy a flight with Aer Lingus and our partner airlines you will collect Avios. Your Avios will be credited to your account after your flight has flown.
On Aer Lingus flights:
Avios are awarded based on what you paid for the Aer Lingus flight, excluding government taxes and any ancillaries like bags or seats. AerClub members can get 3 Avios for every €1 spent on flights booked with Aer Lingus.
1 EUR = 3 Avios
1 GBP = 4 Avios
1 USD = 3 Avios
1 CAD = 2 Avios
Any other currencies will be rewarded based on the Euro value (€1 = 3 Avios). The portion eligible for reward will be rounded to the nearest €/£/$/CAD.
If you have achieved Silver, Platinum or Concierge tier membership you will receive extra Avios every time you fly on an Aer Lingus flight, meaning your Avios balance will grow even faster. Check out how much extra you will earn per flight in each tier:
- Green Tiered member on flight from Dublin to New York
- Eligible ticket revenue is €500
- Example ticket cost is €500
- Avios awarded: €500 * 3 Avios = 1,500 Avios
- Total award is 1500 Avios
- Silver Tiered member on flight from Dublin to New York
- Eligible ticket revenue is €500
- Avios awarded: €500 * 3 Avios = 1,500 plus 25% Silver Tier bonus= 375
- Total award is 1875 Avios
On partner airline flights:
For American Airlines, Avios are awarded based on spend. For British Airways and United, Avios are awarded based on the distance flown and your fare class. The percentage of the mileage that's applied differs per fare class on each partner airline. These are outlined here:
Collect Avios on American Airlines Flights
AerClub members can earn 3 Avios for every €1 spent, excluding government taxes and any ancillaries like bags or seats, on flights ticketed & operated by American Airlines plus any applicable Avios Tier Bonus from the flown date of 29th October 2024.
- Green Tiered member on flight from Dublin to New York on AA ticketed & operated flight
- Eligible ticket revenue is €500
- Avios awarded: €500 * 3 Avios = 1,500
- Total award is 1,500 Avios

If the fare paid is not available, Avios earn is based on the distance flown multiplied by the applicable % of the fare class purchased.

For customers traveling on British Airways-operated flights or British Airways-marketed flights, operated by Aer Lingus, points will be awarded based on the partner airline rules per the chart below. A marketed flight is the two letter code in the flight number - for example, BA4234

For flights with multiple airlines, Avios are awarded based on a combination of what you paid (on the Aer Lingus portion of the flight) and the distance flown and fare class (on the partner airline).
