We are moving to Chicago O'Hare Terminal 3

We have moved to a new home in Chicago O'Hare (ORD) Terminal 3. Since 24 January 2024, all of our flights depart from and arrive into Terminal 3. And like always, we look forward to welcoming you on arrival, and waving you off as you go.

The American Airlines Terminal 3 is one of the largest in Chicago O'Hare Airport, and is divided between four concourses G, H, K and L, two of which H and K, Aer Lingus will be arriving at and departing from. Through our partners, American Airlines, it allows you to seamlessly connect to many other destinations across the US (and beyond). Plus, it offers you enhanced retail, restaurant and airport facilities including:

  • Free Wi-Fi
  • ATMs
  • Currency exchange
  • Stores and duty free
  • Restaurants, food and cafés
  • A family room
  • Lots of seating

The move to Terminal 3 allows you to make smoother connections to the rest of the United States and beyond with our partner, American Airlines.

Connecting to/from Terminal 3 and Terminals 1/2/3/5
  • Customers with boarding cards: If already in possession a boarding card for the onward flight customers can walk to the connecting departure gate, bypassing the need for further security screening.
  • Customers who need to collect a boarding card for their connecting flight can remain within the secure area and obtain a boarding card from the connecting airline at the relevant gate without the need to exit landside.
  • Customers with checked baggage that has been checked through to their final destination are not required to claim their bags in Chicago, as these will automatically transfer to the connecting flight.
  • Customers connecting to Airlines operating from Terminal 5 may take the airside bus link from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 if they are in possession of a valid boarding card for their onward flight. All others must exit the secure area before proceeding to the Airport Transit System (ATS) for transportation to Terminal 5.

International connections between Terminal 5 and Terminal 3
  • International Connections to Aer Lingus
    • Customers arriving into Chicago from an international flight will arrive into Terminal 5 where they will be required to clear US Customs Border Protection
    • Customers connecting with Aer Lingus or American Airlines Customers with checked baggage tagged through to a final destination (e.g., Auckland to Chicago to Dublin) are required to reclaim their luggage to proceed through customs and drop at the American Airlines and Aer Lingus recheck desks before transiting to Terminals 3.
  • Transit options: All Arriving International Customers must clear US Customs Border Protection before proceeding to their connecting flights. All customers are required to exit the secure area and pass through TSA security screening at the connecting terminal before proceeding to the connecting flight.
  • Arriving International Customers with checked baggage connecting on to Aer Lingus or American Airlines must first drop their baggage at the airline recheck desk before proceeding to the Airport Transit System (ATS) for transportation to Terminals 3.
  • Security screening through a TSA checkpoint is required before proceeding to the connecting flight.

Aer Lingus Business Class customers and Aer Club Concierge and Platinum members can relax in The American Airlines Flagship Lounge at Terminal 3 before their flight. Before you fly you can enjoy hot food, snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi, and TV screens.

Busses, taxis and shuttle vans are available at the Arrivals level. However, there are lots of other transportation options.

CTA Blue Line

The CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) offers both train and bus service throughout the City of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. The trains in Chicago are known as the "L,"" and the Blue Line trains are the easiest and most affordable way to get to O'Hare via public transit.

Metra

Metra offers commuter train service throughout the Chicagoland area. Customers coming from O'Hare International Airport terminals can use the O'Hare Transfer Station to access Metra's North Central Service trains to downtown (Union Station) or the suburbs.

Car Rental

Car rental companies are located in the Multi-Modal Facility (MMF). To get to the MMF from the terminals or reverse, customers should take the Airport Transit System (ATS). The MMF¿s address is: 10255 W. Zemke Blvd., Chicago, IL 60666.

Parking

There are several parking options at O'Hare International Airport ranging from valet service to hourly and daily parking to long-term/economy parking.
